Melanie Brown, Mel B., Scary Spice: a woman with this many names has even more careers. After a whirlwind of success in one of the best-selling female musical groups of all time, Mel started a family, moved to Los Angeles, married a successful film producer, starred in a Broadway play, and wrote a chart-topping autobiography.
Never one to sit still, Brown is now the host of Dance Your Ass Off on the Oxygen network, and is preparing for her own reality show, titled The Mel B. Project. Described as a "docu-comedy", The Mel B. Project will follow Brown and her family as they live, work, and play in and around their lavish Los Angeles home.
Part of that home is a former guest house, remodeled into
a top-of-the-line home theater. The sound system was built
by Induction Dynamics and includes two towering ID1.15s, a
C1.8 center channel, four
S1.8s as surrounds, and two SW2
18-inch subwoofers. All nine speakers were custom painted in
Ferrari red at Induction Dynamics' Lenexa, KS woodshop. In
the January 2010 issue of Hello! magazine, Brown praised
their performance, "Those big, sexy red speakers were
Stephen's idea. They.re really rad, because usually speakers
look ugly. The sound quality is incredible! Luckily, the
neighbors aren.t too close."
Melanie was so impressed with Induction Dynamics, she decided to outfit the rest of her house with MSE Audio Group products. She is currently installing CI-7.3 in-ceiling speakers from Phase Technology throughout her house, with SoundTube RS 800s in her personal gym, and ten RockSolid outdoor speakers (featuring SolidDrive sound transducers) around the yard.
With two television shows this year, and rumors of a second Spice Girls reunion, Melanie Brown may be the hardest-working woman in show business. We hope her audiophile-quality sound system and home theater help her relax after grueling days as a musician, actress, TV host, and full-time mom.
